Logistics software provider Supply Vision will collaborate with technology vendor 7LFreight in a bid the partners say will strengthen both their software platforms, the companies announced Wednesday.
Chicago-based Supply Vision will link its transportation management system (TMS) software with rate management software (RMS) from Wilsonville, Ore.-based 7LFreight.
The combination will allow users such as logistics service providers (LSPs) to rate-shop within their TMS and access accurate rates in real time, Supply Vision said. Integrating that rating data across the two firms' platforms will also allow customers to manage tariffs and make decisions on the best vendors for moving goods around the world, the company said.
"Managing rates has always been a manual and time-consuming weekly process for operators," Supply Vision President Amanda Bohl said in a statement. "Incorporating 7LFreight's services into our 3.0 TMS allows customers to rate-shop within their TMS, accessing accurate rates in real time without the time-consuming maintenance, delivering a significant increase in productivity to our users."
