Burris Logistics buys warehouse site near Atlanta

Refrigerated warehousing and freight consolidation service provider Burris Logistics has purchased a 55-acre property about 30 miles outside of Atlanta, the company said yesterday.

Burris will establish a public refrigerated warehouse at the new property, located at 350 King Mill Road in McDonough, Ga., some 33 miles south of downtown Atlanta. Expected to open in January 2018, the 250,000-square-foot facility will include an attached office, hold 28,000 pallet positions, and employ more than 75 people, Burris said.

By purchasing the property, the company is expanding its distribution network to further enhance a growing number of refrigerated warehouses and strengthen customer service, the company said. "Burris continues to evolve to meet the needs of our current and potential clients," Burris Logistics CEO Donnie Burris said in a release. "Our expansion into the Greater Atlanta region highlights the growth, popularity, and diversification we are experiencing throughout our entire operation."

Milford, Del.-based Burris provides custom retail distribution; food-service redistribution; refrigerated warehousing; and freight management services for food-service redistribution, public refrigerated warehousing, and custom and retail specialty work.
