CSCMP's Mentorship Program to accept new applicants in March

During the month of March, the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) will once again be accepting applications for its popular mentorship program.

CSCMP's Mentorship Program matches students and young professionals with experienced supply chain professionals. It was developed by CSCMP's Young Professionals Committee to bridge the gap between current and future supply chain leaders and help younger professionals improve their skills and advance their careers. To participate, both mentors and mentees must be current CSCMP members.

Members who would like to be either a mentee or a mentor will need to fill out an online application and write a 500-word essay about why they want to participate in the program. CSCMP will then match accepted mentors with younger mentees. To maintain the quality of the program, however, CSCMP will only be able to accept a limited number of applicants.

Each pair will be required to be in contact at least once a month and to participate in quarterly "town hall calls" with all of the mentor-mentee pairings. An orientation and kick-off webinar will be held April 14, and the first town hall call will occur on August 15. CSCMP also encourages all pairs to meet in person at the Annual Conference, which will be held this year in Atlanta from September 24-27.

Typically these mentoring partnerships offer personal and professional advantages for both parties. Mentors can develop leadership skills, while mentees gain valuable advice from more experienced people and build their professional networks. Both participants can improve their communication skills, develop new perspectives, and potentially advance their careers.

Find out more about the program.
