After years of collaborating so closely that they almost functioned as one company, they've decided to make it official. Engineering and distribution consultant Fortna and systems integrator Q4 have announced plans to merge operations this month. The combined firm will include 140 associates in six offices nationwide.
Officials for the two companies say the merger, which follows years of collaboration on projects for clients like Sony, Genesco, Big 5 Sporting Goods and The Sharper Image, is the result of popular demand. "Our mutual clients have encouraged the merger," says Q4's Albert Avalos, who will now act as executive vice president of the combined operation.
"It is a logical next step that creates substantial value for our clients," adds Peter Counihan, president of Fortna. "Our organizations have very similar values and strong reputations built on integrity, honesty and successful project execution."
A joint press release states: "The combined company will provide the industry's most complete end-to-end supply chain service offerings encompassing supply chain strategy, business process and organization optimization, and systems integration."
