Think of it as boot camp without the pushups or barbed wire. From Oct. 22 to 25 in Chicago, the International Warehouse Logistics Association (IWLA) will host a program that's fast becoming known as the industry's equivalent of basic training.
Called the "Essentials Course," the program aims to cover both the fundamentals of warehouse management and the latest developments in the industry. The program makes use of hands-on exercises, discussions and case studies. Topics include human resources, warehouse law, real estate, customer relations, logistics technology, transportation and security.
IWLA says the program can benefit anyone in the warehouse logistics industry—that is, third-party or public warehouse providers. The course is part of the organization's Certified Logistics Professional program. For information, visit www.iwla.com.
