DiManEx launches Supply Chain Inspector

Part of DiManEx's end-to-end platform, the solution uses supply chain data to help teams build their digital inventory

DiManEx, a company that makes 3D printing easy for supply chain teams, is excited to announce the launch of Supply Chain Inspector, an analytics tool that uses semantic search, powered by machine learning, to help you identify the right parts for Additive Manufacturing (AM). Part of DiManEx's end-to-end platform, the solution draws on supply chain and technical data to assess parts' printability and pinpoint those that are ideal candidates for digital inventory.

Responding to an industry need

The adoption of 3D printing among supply chain teams is often hindered due to missing insights from available data. A common misconception is that 3D printing a part is always more expensive than mass production. However, mass ordering a part often saddles companies with several years of inventory holding costs and scrapping expenses. With DiManEx's Supply Chain Inspector, you gain visibility into your total supply chain costs, so you can assess the impact of your purchasing decisions on your end-to-end supply chain. The solution enriches your existing supply chain data with 3D printing capabilities, so you can identify how digital manufacturing technologies can help you optimize your supply chain.

Customers like JLG, Dutch Railways and Electrolux are already using the solution to tackle immediate supply chain issues, like demand unpredictability and long lead times. They can also anticipate and prevent future problems, like excess stock. By securing parts through DiManEx's distributed network of AM partners, they not only avoid waste but also minimize logistics miles traveled, improving their environmental footprint. Startups like Lightyear are also working with DiManEx to secure parts on demand for new product introductions, speeding up time to market.

Part of an end-to-end platform

Supply Chain Inspector is the analytics engine behind DiManEx's end-to-end platform, which also supports the part design, conversion and approval process, enabling users to collaborate with colleagues across departments in a single workflow. Once a part design is approved, it is added to a virtual library of parts. Users can then place orders on demand.

The platform automatically matches each order with the Additive Manufacturing Partner in DiManEx's network that best matches the part's material specifications and the user's needs. The end result? A part delivered where and when you need it. Hassle-free.

"At DiManEx, we want to revolutionize manufacturing supply chains the way e-commerce transformed retail," says CEO Tibor van Melsem Kocsis. "The launch of Supply Chain Inspector is a big step forward in the achievement of our mission. We are not only helping customers secure parts more quickly and get them delivered where needed, we are also contributing to reduce waste from excess stock. All of this by helping them identify untapped opportunities in their data."
