MHS offers HC sliding shoe sorter by VanRiet in North America

MT. WASHINGTON, Ky. (Aug. 01, 2019) - MHS (www.mhsglobal.com) announces the availability of its VanRiet HC sorter in North America, adding an industry leading sliding shoe sorter to its domestic, in-house product offering. The HC sorter strikes the balance of high throughput and gentle handling ideal for demanding parcel, e-commerce and retail distribution operations, backed by responsive, local support from MHS.

"This product offering is a prime example of the combined strength of MHS Global companies in action," says Rush Fullerton, senior vice president, business development, MHS. "Our North American customers get access to industry leading VanRiet sortation technology, with the comprehensive local systems engineering and integration support they've come to trust from MHS."

The HC sorter has a modular design and is equipped with single- or double-sided shoes, offering easy scalability and configuration to match each customer's unique requirements. It offers the fastest speed of any closed-deck sliding shoe sorter, at 9.8 feet per second, and can handle products weighing anywhere from 0.55 to over 110 pounds. A 15-inch panel with touchscreen and wireless connectivity enables simple system status checks, while maintenance-friendly features allow locally trained staff to handle most service functions.

As supply chains expand their use of various packaging types to minimize shipping costs, the HC sorter is well-suited to handle everything from bubble mailers and polybags to large corrugate cases, due to its narrow slats and a fully-closed sorter deck design. This helps prevent products from getting stuck and damaged, while limiting the amount of dust and debris that can enter the sorter.
