RMT Robotics has developed a new layer-picking system using its state-of-the-art, patent-pending robotic layer-picking tool.
Using a combination of vacuum and clamping technology, the new tool can pick up 95 percent of consumer products on the market today including corrugate or boxboard cases, shrinkwrapped products, bottles, tubs, and open trays. It can also handle picking patterns with voids and tier sheets.
The RMT layer picking system can pick multiple layers at once as well as pick and place entire pallet loads. In this way, it provides simple and secure inventory replenishment, especially with unstable loads, says RMT Robotics.
The new robotic layer-picking tool increases throughput and reduces the footprint for automated systems, according to RMT Robotics. This makes the technology good for food, beverage, and consumer goods distribution centers, says RMT.
