DAP Technologies has introduced the M4000 series of handheld computers. The units, which the company describes as rugged, powerful, and lightweight, have the additional advantage of being modular, which allows customers to choose the technology they need now and easily upgrade as requirements change.
Built on a Windows CE operating system, the units are sealed to IP65 and engineered to withstand multiple 5-foot drops, making them suited to the specific requirements of warehouse environments. With 128 MB SDRAM and 1 GB flash ROM standard, the handhelds provide ample memory for storing data locally. Communications options include GPRS and Summit Radio wireless LAN 802.11b/g.
The M4000 series units come with a 3.5- inch, 256K color LCD touch screen with LED backlighting. Users have a choice of alphanumeric (M4010 model) or alphabetical (M4020 model) keyboards. Customers are not locked into their decision, as keyboards can be swapped as needs change.
