The Mobicon mobile container-handling system is designed to efficiently lift loads onto and off of trucks and to safely carry containers around sites, up ramps, and into buildings. The Mobicon design incorporates two independent towers and utilizes the container as the structural member linking the two towers. The container is lifted from the bottom, which allows the operator to easily handle flatbeds, tank containers, half heights, over heights, and curtain-sided containers. The two-tower design provides the flexibility to operate on slightly sloping or uneven surfaces, as well as compacted gravel yards, bitumen, or standard lightweight concrete.
The Mobicon has a 73,000-pound lift capacity and is able to carry any type or size of ISO-specified container. The system's low center of gravity enhances stability, preventing the unit from rolling over. The system features an economical four-cylinder 60 hp diesel engine, coupled to a hydrostatic drive system, for reduced fuel costs. Consumption is only 1.5 gallons an hour compared to 6 gallons an hour for many other comparable machines.
Enhanced safety has also been critical in the design of this machine. The operator has a clear view of the working area and does not have to travel with a container 10 feet in the air, as with forklift trucks. Other advantages include easy handling of ramps and speed bumps, reduced on-site congestion, and minimal damage to stock normally caused by long lift truck runs. This flexible container handler can also work in tight spaces and is able to travel under awnings, inside buildings, and up to loading docks.
The Mobicon, designed and manufactured in Australia, is assembled in the USA. Powerfleet is the exclusive American distributor.
