Omron RFID has introduced the Omron RFID One Day Compliance Package, a pre-engineered package designed to help manufacturers comply with mandates from retailers or the DOD requiring them to put RFID tags on cases and pallets.
The new product, which supports both EPC Class 1 and Gen 2 standards, includes an Omron RFID reader/writer, antenna, cables, tags, an optional computer, an RFID printer and hardware and software. The package can be expanded from two devices to however many EPC RFID devices are needed across the user's enterprise.
Along with all the gear, the package includes operator training, professional setup services and system documentation. Clients will also benefit from a free one-year firmware support agreement for specification enhancements and performance improvements, the company says.
In addition, customers will receive RFIDTagManager, plug-andplay RFID software that comes pre-configured to operate with a wide variety of RFID-enabled printers and encoders, handheld devices and fixed-mount readers. An easy-to-use interface simplifies the application of RFIDTagManager, which is provided by Omron RFID's partner epcSolutions Inc.
The One-Day Compliance Package, which is said to be fully compatible with all current and future EPC UHF standards, can be installed for less than $20,000, according to Omron RFID. Companies that place an order for the package on or before March 31, 2006, will receive 10,000 free RFID labels and a discount on future RFID certification training from the company.
