Cat® Lift Trucks Celebrates 13 Years as Official Lift Truck Provider for Livestock Show & Rodeo™

April 10, 2017

HOUSTON (March 2, 2017) - More than two million people and 30,000 animals are expected at this year's Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™ (Show), and behind the scenes Cat® Lift Trucks will provide the equipment and expertise, including more than 100 forklifts, to keep the Show running for three-weeks straight.

This year marks the 13th consecutive year for Cat Lift Trucks and local dealer Darr Equipment Company (Darr Equipment) to serve as the Official Lift Truck Provider for the Show. Together, Cat Lift Trucks and Darr Equipment provide a broad range of internal combustion pneumatic tire lift trucks, ranging in capacities from 5,000 to 10,000 lbs. The trucks are used inside and around the 1.9 million square feet of NRG stadium to prepare for this annual Texas tradition.

"As a Houston-based manufacturer, Cat Lift Trucks is honored to once again be part of this year's Rodeo tradition," said Kent Eudy, executive vice president of sales and marketing for Cat Lift Trucks. "The Rodeo's strong focus on education and community makes this event truly one-of-a-kind. We are proud to support this world-class community event for more than two million visitors each year."

In addition to assisting with the setup and teardown of the 21-day event, Cat lift trucks are also used to transport hundreds of pounds of livestock feed, steel and lumber throughout the 300-acre complex. Each night, the forklifts can be seen setting the stage for the daily concerts performed by a variety of award-winning music artists.

Darr Equipment's technicians will also be on-hand throughout the show to provide lift truck operator training and on-site support throughout the Rodeo season.

The Cat Lift Trucks Scholarship Program, now in its 13th year, will award a $5,000 scholarship to an exemplary Houston-area high school student pursuing higher education. The winner will be announced on the Cat Lift Trucks Facebook page on Friday, March 10 and recognized in the Cat Lift Trucks sponsor suite at the Rodeo on Thursday, March 23.

The 2017 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo begins Tuesday, March 7, and runs through Sunday, March 26. Learn more about Cat? lift trucks involvement as the Official Lift Truck Provider at? http://www.mcfa.com/en/mcfa/testimonials/hlsr or https://www.facebook.com/catlifttrucks/.
