Green Bay, WI - 28 March 2017 - MatchBack Systems, Inc. (www.matchbacksystems.com), the leading software as a service (SaaS) solution to plan, optimize and automate matchbacks, announced that John Urban has joined the Board of Directors.

John Urban is the Founder and former President of GT Nexus. John brings over 25 years of experience in executive management, operations and sales with global transportation and technology companies. GT Nexus is the cloud-based collaboration platform leader in nearly every sector rely on to automate hundreds of supply chain processes on a global scale, across entire trade communities.

Prior to founding GT Nexus in 1999, John was an executive with American President Lines, Ltd. (APL), one of the world's largest ocean liner companies and part of the $4.7 billion NOL Group. He held several executive positions with the company in Asia, North and South America. Before joining APL, John was President of NPSC, a domestic intermodal carrier. Mr. Urban was vice president of Sales and Marketing for BRAE Corp., a provider of transportation equipment financing, leasing and management before his employment with NPSC.

"It is a privilege for MatchBack Systems to have an industry leader with John's knowledge and expertise on our Board," said Todd Ericksrud, President/CEO of MatchBack Systems. "John's leadership at GT Nexus is well known and highly recognized in our industry. His guidance will be instrumental within our organization and accelerate our path to becoming the industry standard for matchbacks."

"MatchBack System's innovative business model enables huge cost savings for ocean shippers and carriers while creating substantial reductions in their carbon emissions," said Urban. "I am very pleased and excited about the opportunity to help them become the industry standard for matchbacks. For every 5% of US exports for which we create matchbacks, we eliminate 55,000 metric tons of emissions and remove the equivalent of 10,000 trucks from the road. That's exciting."
