Averitt Express wins overall Mastio Quality Award

Independent research agency Mastio & Company gives Averitt highest score in industry

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. — Mastio & Company, an independent research agency that specializes in the LTL industry, recently honored Averitt Express as its 2015 overall Mastio Quality Award winner, as well as its Inter-Regional Carrier Award winner.

In its 11th annual LTL Carrier Customer Value/Loyalty Benchmarking Study, Mastio & Company interviewed more than 2,000 major shippers to determine which carriers are best meeting their customers' needs. In these interviews, shippers rated carriers on 34 attributes, including overall performance, operational flexibility, competitive transit times and proactive communications.

Based on the results, Averitt received the highest overall score in the industry, as well as outpacing the competition in the Inter-Regional category.

"The Mastio survey covers the operational side, it covers the people and it covers the back office, so it provides a great assessment of the landscape of the entire organization," said Kevin Huntsman, vice president of sales for Mastio & Company. "Obviously to be No. 1, a company has to excel in each of those areas."

Huntsman said Averitt's people and culture separated it from other companies.

"From the customer service representatives to the drivers, from the account representatives to the executive leadership, Averitt has a consistent culture across the board," Huntsman said. "It's a mentality of providing superior service to the shipper. That's what it boils down to."

Averitt's executive vice president of sales and marketing, Phil Pierce, says earning this recognition was a team effort.

"We are honored to earn this prestigious recognition from Mastio," said Pierce. "Our team is committed to providing our customers with outstanding service and transportation solutions under one roof. We are humbled by this award, and we will continue to work to earn our customers' trust each day."
