Knapp launches OSR Shuttle Evo
Warehouse logistics and automation solutions provider Knapp announced the OSR Shuttle Evo, an automated material handling system that can handle items of different shapes and sizes—from totes to trays to cartons, the company said Monday at a press conference.
Using proprietary racking and energy-efficient shuttles, the system stores inventory multiple layers deep on each rack to achieve high-density storage, allowing users to store both active stock and buffer or reserve inventory in a single warehouse.
The product includes three modules—the shuttles, lift stations, and workstations—and is designed to allow users to scale up the system simply by adding more racking in their facility and to continually refresh manual or automated picking areas with goods, the company said. Knapp has done 10 installations of the system to date, including two in the U.S., and sees future applications in such segments as general retail, e-commerce, food, apparel, and healthcare.
