Zebra Technologies Corp. displayed its 3600 Ultra-Rugged series of scanners, designed to exceed standards for durability, scan performance, and manageability in demanding industrial environments such as warehouses, distribution centers, manufacturing shop floors, and do-it-yourself (DIY) retail stores. The Lincolnshire, Ill., company showed versions of the device with either 1D or 2D scanning and corded or cordless options for applications including picking, packing, shipping, receiving, work in progress (WIP), inventory tracking, track and trace, cross docking, and point of sale (POS) applications.
Zebra also announced an Internet of Things (IOT) platform including a collaboration with Bosch Connected Devices and Solutions. By attaching Bosch wireless sensors to containers, refrigerators, vending machines, or other boxes, Zebra can now track a shipment's temperature, vibration, humidity, light, and acceleration, then send that data to cloud storage through a wireless link.
