Vanderlande video-based tech support system saves time, improves accuracy

EYE4U from Vanderlande Industries is a real-time, video-based technical support tool that streams live images from a work site to the company's technical support hotline and help desk. Vanderlande Industries is a global supplier of turnkey material handling systems for distribution, parcel, postal, and airport baggage handling applications.

EYE4U is wearable video technology that utilizes a hands-free, head-mounted video camera, a hip-mounted recorder, and two-way communication. It allows customers to show help desk technicians exactly what they are looking at as they describe their problem. Users can then follow live instructions from a help desk specialist and demonstrate the results of any actions taken. The head-worn camera unit is light and compact, and the recorder allows up to nine hours of recording. The system also includes a wireless remote control.

All live video and image streaming is encrypted for secure communication and can only be accessed by authorized help desk specialists. EYE4U's live images save time in diagnosing and correcting situations, improving uptime, and increasing material handling system availability. The images also help to prevent language problems and communication misunderstandings.
