Dock equipment maker Rite-Hite introduced three new products at the Modex trade show in Atlanta this week: a new advanced dock-sealing system, an LED dock light, and a fast roll-up door.
According to Rite-Hite, the Eclipse shelter provides a tight, consistent dock seal all the way up the trailer's sides, across the top, and at the corners. On the sides of the trailer, the system's GapMaster hooks wrap around swing-open trailer doors, sealing the gaps created by the door hinge. Along the top of the trailer, a weighted head curtain applies more than 100 pounds of pressure across the full width of the trailer top. At the top corners, fabric corner pockets connect sides to top. Finally, the PitMaster under-leveler sealing system provides a barrier against environmental infiltration on the exterior of the dock.
The Rite-Lite Flex Neck LED Dock Light features an articulating arm made from molded nylon links. The links provide multiple bend points for positioning the light to shine into the trailer, and then for moving the light out of the way again when loading or unloading is complete. Unlike metal snake arm dock lights, the nylon links do not "droop" over time, making it difficult to position the light accurately. Instead, the links can be tightened back up with an Allen wrench.
The Rite-Lite is designed to take incidental impacts from forklifts and overhead doors, and uses six LEDs that consume just 18 watts of energy while outputting 925 lumens. The light is rated for 175,200 hours of service life. The light has four settings and an optional auto-dimming feature that senses when a forklift or person exits a trailer and automatically dims the light to reduce glare.
The final product, the LiteSpeed Clean, is a fast roll-up door that automatically rolls itself up, stops, and reverses down at speeds of up to 65 inches per second. The door is designed to keep contaminants from entering clean interior environments. This soft-edged curtain door is impactable so that if it is hit, the door will fix itself as it rolls back up.
