At the CSCMP Annual Global Conference in Philadelphia, IBM announced that it plans to release an upgraded version of its software for supply network optimization and design. The application will help supply chain executives evaluate the design of their supply chain networks and optimize their sourcing strategy.
IBM Ilog Logic Net Plus Version 7.2 will be able to examine multiple objectives when it conducts an analysis of the design of a supply chain network, said Michael Watson, optimization and supply chain lead at IBM. As such, the revised application will be able to evaluate a network based on a host of factors, such as service and carbon footprint, in addition to cost. The enhanced version will also offer a new interface for users.
