The U.S. Transportation Security Administration's newly formed Surface Transportation Security Advisory Committee (STSAC) will include individuals from the trucking community among its 35 voting members, the group said this earlier spring.
Voting members of the STSAC will serve two-year terms, and will report to TSA Administrator David Pekoske on a range of surface transportation security matters, the group said. The 35 voting members represent each mode of surface transportation, including passenger rail, freight rail, mass transit, pipelines, highways, over-the-road bus, school bus industry, and trucking.
Trucking-industry members include Douglas R. Morris, director of safety and security operations for the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association; Jacob E. Pierce, deputy executive director, safety management council, American Trucking Associations; and Alexandra Rosen, customs, immigration, and cross-border operations manager, American Trucking Associations.
