Commercial fleet management firm Ryder System, Inc. has opened a full-service maintenance facility in Norton, Mass., to accommodate the company's growth in Greater Boston, Ryder officials said today.
Miami-based Ryder said it built the new facility, which sits on 19.4 acres of land, because it outgrew its existing facility in nearby West Bridgewater, Mass. The West Bridgewater location will remain open and the two facilities will work together to accommodate the firm's large customer base in the region, Ryder also said. The facilities will serve customers in greater Boston, Cape Cod, and the MetroWest area.
The new facility features a 24,000 square-foot building, 13 maintenance work bays, and a two-lane diesel fuel service island for Ryder customers. It also includes a full-service rental counter, a 7,300 square-foot office that houses a rental reception and lease sales office, customer service area, and a drivers' lounge. The site also accommodates a 2,160 square-foot drive-through wash bay with a fully automated truck wash system, a lube equipment room, and a battery charging room with storage space, the company said.
