Greenville, N.C.-based Hyster Company has introduced a telemetry mobile app for lift trucks designed to help improve fleet productivity, the company said today.
The Hyster Tracker mobile app works as a companion to the company's Hyster Tracker desktop pOréal, bringing data-driven insights and management functionality to the warehouse floor via smartphone. The app provides near real-time fleet utilization metrics and notifies operators when impacts or errors on pre-shift safety checklists occur, the company also said.
Hyster said the mobile app is compatible with both android and iOS devices, and comes at no additional charge to Hyster Tracker users. Add-on features include:
Hyster Populate Service, a data integration service that combines information from Hyster Tracker and customer warehouse management systems;
Hyster Load Sensing, which can help enhance key performance indicators for loaded and unloaded trucks, as well as notify operators of possible capacity overloads.
"Lift trucks are really transforming into mobile data centers," Steven LaFevers, vice president of motive power and telematics for Hyster Company, said in a statement announcing the app. "Fleet and operations managers don't have the luxury of time and guess work. This mobile app solution delivers data and information to their fingertips for quick, informed responses to potential productivity disruptions."
