Ryder opens Pennsylvania maintenance facility for advanced fuel vehicles

Vehicle rental and leasing giant Ryder System Inc. said today that it has opened a maintenance facility in Pennsylvania to support its commercial fleet management, dedicated transportation, and supply chain solutions divisions.

The facility, located in Leesport, Pa., is sited near Route 61, with quick access to both Interstate 78 and Interstate 81.Miami-based Ryder said it will use the facility to provide maintenance capabilities and to service the firm's advanced fuel vehicles.

The office site is a nod to the historical significance of nearby Reading, Pa., where the original Reading Railroad was incorporated in 1833 and which has a long history as a transportation hub where freight rail services are still provided today, the company said.
