Lanetix targets mid-sized fleets and brokers with CRM

Logistics technology provider Lanetix Inc. said Tuesday it has released a customer relationship management (CRM) software platform for the domestic freight market and integrated the technology with the transportation management system (TMS) product from 3Gtms Inc.

San Francisco-based Lanetix said its LxRoadFreight product is designed to help mid-sized trucking fleets and freight brokerages manage spot quote and contracted opportunities, increase asset utilization, and streamline carrier relationships. Together, those capabilities can improve users' operating margin and boost their profitability, the company said.

Lanetix will target the software at mid-sized firms, saying that market sector has traditionally been priced out of using the enterprise CRM packages and technology consultants deployed by large, multinational firms.

Domestic freight brokers can use Lanetix software to improve their performance in a competitive market by balancing shipper demands with carrier capacity, and juggling the predictability of long-term contracted rates with the more profitable spot market, the firm said. Likewise, asset-owning trucking carriers can use the technology to increase utilization, win the most profitable requests for proposals (RFPs), retain drivers, and hold shippers accountable to committed volumes, Lanetix President John Golob said in a statement.
