Transport and logistics giant C.H. Robinson Worldwide Inc. said late today that it has acquired Milgram & Co. Inc., a Canadian freight forwarder and customs broker for about U.S. $50 million in cash.
Based in Montreal, Milgram had gross revenues of about U.S. $124 million in its fiscal year ending May 31. Gross revenues are a nonasset-based provider's revenues before the cost of purchased transportation is factored in. Milgram also provides warehousing and surface transport services. It has six offices in Canada and one in the U.S.
The acquisition is the third for Eden Prairie, Minn.-based Robinson's Global Forwarding unit in the past five years. The unit operates 125 offices in 31 countries.
Robinson is the nation's largest freight broker and third-party logistics (3PL) provider.
