Azbees - ASBPE Awards of Excellence

Trade magazine editors tend to work behind the scenes. After all, a good reporter is supposed to be an impartial observer and avoid becoming part of the story. But every now and then, it's nice to step into the limelight and take a bow.

Last month, that moment came for four editors from Agile Business Media's DC Velocity and its sister magazine, CSCMP's Supply Chain Quarterly, when they were honored by the American Society of Business Publication Editors (ASBPE) with regional "Azbee" awards for editorial excellence.

Mark Solomon, DCV's executive editor—news, won a silver medal for his general interest feature article "Can we all just get along?," a look at the growing use of "collaborative robots"—or "cobots"—that work alongside their human counterparts in the DC. Mitch Mac Donald, group editorial director, and Karen Bachrach, executive editor—features, received a silver medal for DCV's monthly "Outbound" column. Toby Gooley, editor of Supply Chain Quarterly, won a bronze medal for her "Perspectives" column.
