Less than truckload (LTL) carrier YRC Worldwide Inc. said Wednesday it has named Scott D. Ware president of Holland, one of the company's three U.S.-based regional carriers.

Ware, 51, had been Holland's vice president of operations. He succeeds Michael J. Naatz, who left the post May 7 to join railroad Kansas City Southern as senior vice president and chief information officer.

"Scott has been an integral part of the Holland success story for the past five years. As leader of the operations group, he—along with his team—established Holland as the industry standard, best-in-class leader for the next-day LTL market," said James Welch, YRC's CEO, in a statement.

Prior to joining Holland in 2007, Ware was director of linehaul operations at regional trucker Saia Inc. He was previously director of linehaul at Jevic Transportation, and prior to that a manager of freight flow operations at Con-way Inc.

Based in Holland, Mich., Holland provides services in 21 states and Canadian provinces. YRC's other two U.S. regional units are New Penn and Reddaway.
