Averitt units pool their assets

Averitt Express says it has integrated its dedicated and logistics service units and renamed the new organization Averitt Express Supply Chain Solutions.

Averitt Dedicated had focused primarily on providing private fleet and transportation operations, including specialized equipment and personnel, administration and fleet maintenance. Averitt Logistics had offered third-party logistics services, including transportation management, dedicated facility operations and transportation network design.

The new unit, which combines the services and resources of both groups, can provide both assetbased and non-asset-based services, depending on customer need, says Dan Singer, vice president of the new organization.

Averitt Express is a freight transportation company whose major business is less-than-truckload motor carriage.
