APICS – The Educational Society for Resource Management – again offers its "Basics of Supply Chain Management" program in Wilmerding, Pa., from Aug. 20-22. The course covers industry fundamentals and provides an overview of successful manufacturing strategies. Topics will include a look at the basic concepts and language of supply chain management as well as the relationships between master planning, inventory management, forecasting, just-in-time manufacturing, material requirements planning, capacity management , distribution, production activity control, total quality management and purchasing. Industry newcomers and those seeking to advance into management roles will benefit from this course. Cost of the program is $995 for APICS members and $1,140 for non-members.
