Two major logistics organizations that have been headless for several months have selected new professional leadership.
On Sept. 1, John B. Ficker, who was logistics development manager for Weyerhaeuser Co., became president of the 96-year-old National Industrial Transportation League, whose members include many of the nation's largest industrial shippers. He succeeds Peter J. Gatti, a vice president of the organization who had served as acting president of the organization since March, when Ed Emmett left the post.
Earlier this summer, NASSTRAC, a shipper organization that focuses primarily on less-than-truckload, parcel, and express shipping, chose a new head as well, when it named Brian Everett as the group's executive director. Everett is also executive director of the Transportation Marketing & Communications Association. He has more than 20 years' experience in marketing in the transportation industry.
