Most of the people who go to New York's Madison Square Garden to see the circus or cheer on the local basketball and hockey teams don't give much thought to the logistics of bringing it all together. But for those curious about what goes on behind the scenes, the New York Roundtable of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals is offering a peek. On Tuesday, Jan. 23, the group is sponsoring a logistics tour of the facility's back-end operations.
The tour will include lunch and a presentation on "Logistics Considerations in Building and Site Design" by John Ford, senior consultant with Arup. Ford's presentation will feature case studies, including a discussion of the building of the Fulton Street Transit Center (NYC) and the Royal Opera Hall (London).
Registration is available through www.cscmp-nyc.org/meetings.htm. Attendance is limited to the first 40 registrants.
