G-Series thermal desktop printers

November 1, 2008
No Comments

Zebra Technologies, a company that provides specialty printing and automatic-identification solutions, has launched the new G-Series line of thermal desktop printers. These new printers offer a wide array of innovative features and connectivity options.

The G-series products are available in both direct thermal and a combination of direct thermal/thermal transfer versions. They are compatible with Zebra's multiple ribbon and label combinations, even those that work in the harshest conditions. The printers, which use Zebra's high-quality in-stock media, are suitable for printing labels, receipts, price-marking tags, and shipping and return labels.

From the feature-rich GX models to the more basic GK models, the compact printers are designed to support multiple applications. They offer a wide range of connectivity options, including 802.11g and Bluetooth wireless as well as 10/100 Ethernet, for easy network integration. LCD displays are standard with wireless options and clearly communicate prompts and status.

The GX model has print speeds of six inches per second, making it a fast desktop printer. This direct thermal printer also has a small footprint.

Media loading is also quick for all of the models and requires no training. Firmware, forms, fonts, and graphics are permanently stored in the printer. Flash memory provides faster processing, and increased SDRAM enables longer formats to accommodate more demanding applications. The units' rugged, high-quality construction provides durability and reliability.

Remote printer management, via ZebraNet Bridge Enterprise software, allows customers to view and control worldwide printer networks from a single location. The printers can also be customized to meet a wide range of industry and application requirements.

Lessons from CSCMP’s Annual Report Card for Shippers and Carriers

DCV-TV 4: Viewer Contributed
Recently, the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) released their 33rd Annual State of Logistics Report which is created by AT Kearny. I've viewed this as basically a "Report Card" for shippers and carriers since it offers a comprehensive view of what they both have dealt with in the past year,...
