Kelley's SafeTFrame addresses the structural and installation issues that negatively affect dock levelers' longevity and cost of ownership. The new SafeTFrame product adds more steel and structural strength to the rear frame of the dock leveler and allows the dock leveler to be leveled in the pit without the use of steel shims that can shift over time. The SafeTFrame structural design is now standard on all Kelley brand dock leveler models of up to 50,000 pounds capacity.
The new design includes four heavyduty vertical uprights at the rear of the leveler. Each rear support has an adjustable 3- by 3-inch pad that sits on the pit floor. The installer adjusts the leveling bolts using a standard 1/2-inch square head socket located at the top rear of the dock leveler deck. Additionally, SafeTFrame allows an adjustment point on each front support pedestal to be accessed through the open lip hinge area using the same socket. Both the front pedestals and rear supports can be micro-adjusted independently through a 1-1/2-inch range, compensating for even the worst pit conditions.
