PosiGrip Accumulation Conveyor

March 1, 2006
No Comments

The advantages of the new PosiGrip Accumulation Conveyor are laid out in a new flyer from TKF Inc. The PosiGrip conveyor, according to the brochure, offers non-contact, zero pressure accumulation. Said to be suitable for use in the appliance, automotive, glass, computer and electrical component, and food and beverage industries, the conveyor is designed to keep fragile items from coming into contact with one another.

The conveyor features TKF's patented PosiGrip roller drive gear teeth formed directly into the rollers. It is powered by smooth, quiet synchronous belting and a positive drive. There are no separate sprockets or gears and no welded drive components.

Accumulation zones are driven by motorized rollers, each with a drive card with settings that allow for easy speed adjustments. The drive roller stops as a product reaches the photo-eye at the zone's discharge point, virtually ensuring that it will not come in contact with another item. Zones, which are available up to 75 inches long and 45 inches wide, can be individually controlled for specific assembly areas. Each zone can accommodate unit loads weighing up to 400 pounds.

Because it requires no lubrication, the PosiGrip conveyor is said to be cleaner than comparable conveyors, making it suitable for both clean environments and rugged applications.
