READING, PA (June 19, 2019) - Fortna®, The Distribution Experts®, continues to focus on altruism as an important part of the company's culture. Since 2017, Fortna has donated, on behalf of its associates, to multiple North American and global disaster relief and humanitarian efforts carried out by charitable organizations including, but not limited to, The American Red Cross, The British Red Cross, The Canadian Red Cross, Red Cross Broward County, American Red Cross-Hawaii, Red Cross-Guatemala, Pennsylvania Tri-County Red Cross, Mercy Corps, Doctors without Borders, Gift of the Gifts, Direct Relief, The Salvation Army and Habitat for Humanity Vietnam. Additionally, Fortna served as a bronze level sponsor of the American Logistics Aid Network from November of 2017 to November of 2018 and continues to support ALAN in its disaster relief efforts.

"The company has supported disaster relief efforts during natural and man-made disasters and crises in multiple areas of the U.S. including Hawaii and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, and globally in areas such as Mexico, Colombia, The UK, Venezuela, South Africa, British Columbia, Guatemala, Indonesia, Mozambique and Vietnam," said Fortna's Wellness Coordinator Carol Nielsen. "We will continue to support disaster and crisis relief efforts around the world as the need arises," she added.

Fortna also offers its associates globally the opportunity to take paid time off annually to volunteer for charitable organizations of their choosing in an effort to support their desire to "give back" to their communities in ways that are meaningful to them while nurturing the company's altruistic culture.

Since 2017, associates who have participated in the program have volunteered individually or in groups for Habitat for Humanity, The Salvation Army, Samaritan's Purse and Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child, Yearup, Global Aid Network, International Disaster Emergency Service, The Mid-Atlantic Air Museum, Dress for Success, Wreaths Across America, and PAC- a Colombian nonprofit emergency medical flight team serving vulnerable populations in outlying areas. Associates have also volunteered at various food banks, animal shelters, events for underprivileged children, job fairs for the underprivileged, retreats for inner city children, charity sponsored sporting events to benefit specific groups in need, and other charitable events in their communities globally.
