TZA Expands Leadership Team to Support Growth Initiatives in Labor Management Software Market

Long Grove, IL: April 27, 2016 - TZA, the leader in supply chain labor management solutions, announced today that Andy Recard has rejoined the company as President to lead the strategic direction of the company and drive future company growth and product innovation.

"TZA has an extraordinary opportunity to further extend its leadership in the labor management market space with our unique combination of advanced software functionality, engineering expertise, and performance consulting," explained Evan Danner, current President, who will assume the role of Chief Executive Officer. "I'm excited to bring Andy back to TZA and look forward to him building on our 30 years of success."

Recard has nearly 20 years of experience in supply chain optimization and brings significant labor management experience to his new role. He will be returning to TZA after serving as Senior Director, Operations Excellence at Medline Industries, where he developed, implemented and was directly responsible for productivity improvement initiatives across more than 40 distribution centers. Previously during his 14 years at TZA, he held positions in project management, engineering and product strategy, including Vice President in charge of ProTrack software development and professional services.

"TZA is transforming the art and science of labor management to help companies optimize productivity, utilization and engagement as they face a shortage of skilled labor, pressure on wages and decreasing retention," said Andy Recard. "Based on my previous experience working with TZA's ProTrack customers and more recently managing ProTrack in a large, complex supply chain operation, TZA has the technology and the talent to stay at the forefront of labor management solutions."

"I am pleased to share that Mike Jevince has been promoted to Vice President of Sales," Recard added. "Mike will direct our sales and marketing teams to accelerate revenue growth through new customer acquisition and development of additional markets and distribution channels."

Jevince was most recently Director of Sales at TZA, where he has led successful labor management software and service implementations for new and existing clients. He has over 20 years of solution-oriented sales experience in improving supply chain processes and performance.

Australian supermarket chain rolls out AI-powered grocery carts

Grocery shoppers in Australia will soon be able to zip in and out of the store in record time, bypassing the lines for cashiers or self-checkout kiosks altogether. They can just walk in, make their selections, and walk out with their bags in hand.

The secret to this express shopping experience is the “Caper Cart,” an AI (artificial intelligence)-powered smart trolley from San Francisco-based Instacart. In its first deployment in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, the system is being tested by Coles Supermarkets, a food and beverage retailer with more than 1,800 grocery and liquor stores throughout the country.

How green is your glue?

If you’re looking to make the packaging process more eco-friendly, the obvious place to start is with the box itself. And that’s exactly what Salt Lake City-based Packsize did when it made its initial foray into sustainable packaging back in 2002. That year, the company launched its first product, an innovative on-demand packaging system designed to reduce cardboard waste (and the need for filler material) by creating a right-sized box for each shipment.
