Conveyor and conveyor part manufacturer Interroll opened a new 100,000-square-foot manufacturing facility this past Sunday in Hiram, Ga., just outside Atlanta. The Regional Center for Excellence will make dynamic storage equipment, modules, and subsystems and will serve customers, such as Coca-Cola, Delta Airlines, Procter & Gamble, Amazon.com, UPS, and Frito-Lay. The facility will provide market-focused product lines and engineering support.
The center's location near Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport and the Port of Savannah will allow Interroll to quickly respond to customers and meet just-in-time inventory requirements, according to the company. Initially, the facility will employ 40 people in the Hiram area, with the total eventually approaching 100 employees.
The opening coincided with the Modex supply chain trade show, taking place this week at the Georgia World Congress Center.
