Trucking giant Old Dominion Freight Line kicked off its year-long 75th anniversary celebration at the NITL conference last week by unveiling a specially designed rolling museum. ODFL said the traveling museum, a customized truck that features interactive displays outlining the company's history, will be on a nationwide tour throughout 2009.
Highlighting what company officials describe as the "past, present, and future" of ODFL, the museum is a 38-ton hydraulic-enabled 2009 Freightliner DD-15 Cascadia whose trailer is outfitted with walk-through displays. The tour, which began at Old Dominion's Miami Service Center Nov. 16, is scheduled to stop at 27 cities throughout the country.
