High winds pushed a cruise ship into a dock at Spain's Port of Barcelona on Wednesday, toppling a giant crane and sparking a damaging fire, according to published reports.
Startling videos show the ship plowing directly into the yellow cargo crane, knocking it over like onto stacked containers as startled dockworkers flee. Despite the drama, no injuries have been reported.
The ship was a roll-on/roll-off ferry named Excellent, operated by Italy's Grandi Navi Veloci, one report said. The Excellent was arriving in Barcelona after sailing from Genoa, Italy, as part of its regular service. Built in 1998, the ship has capacity for about 2,200 passengers and 760 vehicles, the report said.
