Supply chain service provider OIA Global Logistics has acquired American Cargo Express Inc., a provider of domestic and international freight forwarding, warehousing, and trade management services, the companies said Tuesday.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Union, N.J.-based American Cargo Express covers the U.S. market from its headquarters and the Canadian region from its ACE Express Canada division, located in Toronto. The company offers air shipping; sea transportation; warehousing and third-party logistics (3PL) services; and domestic trucking transportation.
Portland, Ore.-based OIA said the acquisition would help expand its footprint into the competitive Toronto market in Canada and provide a wider base for global services including Europe, Asia, and South America, according to a statement from OIA CEO Charlie Hornecker.
"Canada will mark the 27th country in which OIA Global operates, and we will continue to explore these types of acquisitions in the future, provided they are strategic to our business, help grow our brand, expand our network, and create value for our customers," Hornecker said.
OIA is a $1 billion supply chain management provider that supplies global logistics, materials sourcing, and packaging solutions. It is privately owned by Indianapolis-based LDI Ltd. LLC.
