Regional freight carrier Raven Inc. has adopted Tracks TMS from Cargo Chief Inc. to root out inefficiencies in the transportation process, Cargo Chief said Thursday.
Selma, Calif.-based Raven chose the Tracks web-based transportation management system (TMS) to gain better visibility over costs and schedules of its delivery routes. http://www.trackstms.com
Cargo Chief, a third party logistics provider (3PL) founded in Mountain View, Calif. in 2012, created Tracks as a technology solution to help carriers to grow and scale their businesses, the company said.
Tracks allows users to access a single, web-based platform to control orders, load tendering, dispatching, invoicing customers, and paying drivers, Cargo Chief said. The application also provides real-time tracking on trips in progress, including data regarding fuel stops, routes, and current tire pressure.
"The Cargo Chief system gives us complete visibility into our equipment, our drivers, their fuel, overall costs, everything—all accessed from a phone, tablet, or laptop," D.J. Randhawa, operations manager for Raven Inc., said in a statement.
"Whenever the drivers fuel up, the costs go right into the system, so you're always aware of the profit and loss of a trip while it's happening," Randhawa said. "The visibility has helped us with on-time deliveries as well, because we can help our drivers on the spot with any challenges they have."
