Less-than-truckload carrier YRC Worldwide Inc. has reorganized its top sales, marketing, and operational workforces in the first major realignment under new president Jeff Rogers.
Under the reorganization, YRC is consolidating its divisions from four regions to two, according to an internal memo issued Monday by Rogers. The West division will cover the Western half of the United States, up to and including Dallas, Kansas City, and Chicago. The East division will cover the remainder.
Rogers said Bill Anderson would head operations in the East, while Dan Gatta would oversee operations in the West. Both will hold the title of division vice president-operations.
Dirk Abernathy has been named to head sales for the Eastern division, while Don Horning will hold the same position in the West, according to the memo. Each will have corporate, field, and inside sales reporting to them, Rogers said.
In the memo, Rogers said the objective was to simplify and flatten YRC's organizational layers. "Though we will have fewer leaders at the top, we will have more leadership as we push responsibility and accountability throughout the organization," he wrote in the memo.
Rogers became president about a month ago after running YRC's successful Holland regional truck unit.
