The new CEO of YRC Worldwide Inc., James L. Welch, has wasted little time putting his own stamp on the company and dismantling the corporate hierarchy put into place by his predecessor, William D. Zollars.
YRC announced Monday that it has named Jeff Rogers, who had been president of the company's successful Holland regional trucking unit, president of YRC. In addition, Mike Naatz, who had been the company's chief customer officer, was promoted to replace Rogers at Holland.
The moves come three days after Welch, who joined the less-than-truckload carrier July 22, eliminated the positions of chief customer officer, chief marketing officer, chief administrative officer, and chief operations officer. YRC said the changes would streamline the organization and enable it to compete more cost-effectively.
Rogers, 49, and Naatz, 45, will report to Welch, the company said.
