One of Hawaii's better known warehousing and transportation companies exists no more, at least as a stand-alone company. Oahu-based City Wide Transportation has been acquired by Honolulu Freight Service, the largest and oldest dry and refrigerated cargo surface freight forwarder to and from the Hawaiian islands. The merged operation represents the largest provider of transportation and warehousing services between the North American continent and the Hawaiian Islands.
"This partnership extends our complete logistics, transportation, distribution and warehousing services into one entity to serve all our island and mainland customers with one single source," says Mike Beidleman, president of Honolulu Freight Service. "And our Freight Tracker computer technology system continues to provide HFS customers with 24-7 access to user-friendly tracing and tracking information."
