What better time than a week after Earth Day to schedule a conference on energy-efficient supply chains? A one-day conference sponsored jointly by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Center for Transportation & Logistics (CTL) and the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) will take place on MIT's campus in Cambridge, Mass., on April 30. The event builds on the success of a panel discussion organized by CTL during the CSCMP's annual conference in San Antonio, Texas, last October.

Leading experts from industry and academia will discuss rising energy costs and the impact on supply chain design and management. Issues on the agenda include the streamlining of distribution networks to reduce energy consumption, new types of packaging, and collaborative programs to develop best practices that support energy efficiency. For more information or to register for the CTL/CSCMP conference, visit http://ctl.mit.edu.
