Critical care. Kuehne + Nagel Critical Service Logistics has presented its 2004 Warehouse and Delivery Service Awards to Fast Track Expediting LLC in Van Nuys, Calif., and United States Cargo & Courier Service of Mechanicsburg, Pa. The annual awards recognize the best-performing high-volume and intermediate-volume warehouse and delivery locations within Kuehne + Nagel's North American network.
ISO good. TNT Logistics has received ISO certification at six more operating locations, bringing its total number of ISO-compliant operations in North America to 29. The six new certified locations are in Indianapolis, Ind.; Brownstown Township, Mich.; Greenville, S.C.; Spartanburg, S.C.; Independence, Va.; and Temperance, Mich. These sites provide logistics services to customers in the automotive manufacturing, tire manufacturing and other industries.
Another plus. Logistics Plus, a logistics company based in Erie, Pa., has named A. Duie Pyle, an integrated transportation provider in the Northeast, as the winner of its annual Partner Award. A. Duie Pyle was honored for its on-time deliveries, customer service, on-time pickups, low claims ratio and billing accuracy.
Cool honors. Carrier Transicold, a division of Carrier Corp. that provides temperature-controlled products for trucks, trailers and railcars, gave out several awards at its recent dealer meeting in Cancun, Mexico. Named Dealer of the Year was Carrier Transicold Pennsylvania-East (a unit of Penn Detroit Diesel Allison), which serves customers in Eastern Pennsylvania and Southern New Jersey. Presented with Lifetime Achievement Awards were two long-term members of Carrier Transicold's dealer network—Larry Kratzke, president of Larry's Trailer Sales and Service of Wichita, Kan., and Larry Fleming, president of Eskimo Refrigeration in Calgary, Alberta.
Wise beyond her years. The Canadian International Freight Forwarders Association has chosen Alicia Chin, an air import customer service coordinator for Exel in Toronto, as its 2005 Young Freight Forwarder of the Year. The honor goes each year to a professional under 30 who best exemplifies the education, skills, knowledge and attitude to further his or her career in the freight forwarding industry.
