A surprising number of people end up managing warehouses or overseeing some other aspect of distribution and logistics not because they chose this career path, but because their bosses sent them there. If you're one of them, an upcoming workshop sponsored by the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) is for you.
The workshop, "Fundamentals of Supply Chain Management," will take place in Dallas on Sept. 19-20. Featuring an interactive structure, the program addresses what the supply chain is and how it affects all aspects of business. The two-day course, which includes segments on transportation, warehousing, outsourcing, labor management and inventory management, has been designed for everyone from line supervisors just entering the profession to senior executives who have been charged with organizational supply chain responsibility.
