Glacier Computer, a designer, developer and supplier of rugged industrial PC-compatible devices, has been named to Entrepreneur magazine's "Hot 100" list of the fastest-growing small businesses in the United States. Glacier Computer made its debut on the list at number 75, with a growth rate of 279 percent.
Logical choices. Logility, a company that markets collaborative solutions to optimize the supply chain, has honored several of its customers for innovation in implementing collaborative supply chain processes. The 2005 Logility Leadership Award winners are Nestle Purina Petcare, Robert Horne Group, Tiffany & Co., The Coleman Co. and Williamson-Dickie Manufacturing.
Chef's special. Chef Solutions, a manufacturer of refrigerated prepared foods and bakery products, has selected Lanter Distributing as its LTL/Pool Carrier of the Year. Lanter Distributing, a division of Ozburn-Hessey Logistics, last year delivered 2,750 salad shipments for Chef Solutions in five states.
Secretary's day. U.S. Secretary of Transportation Norman Mineta has been chosen as Port Person of the Year by the American Association of Port Authorities. The annual award honors individuals who have made a significant contribution to public port authorities and/or maritime commerce. The association praised Secretary Mineta for bringing freight transportation to the forefront of the Bush administration's agenda and for serving as a strong advocate of the port industry.
