Aware of the importance of saving energy at the loading dock, many facilities have invested in vertical storing dock levelers. However, the vertical leveler alone does not prevent energy loss. It is the combination of the vertical storing leveler and a high-quality loading dock door that creates energy savings by completely sealing the building envelope.
Recognizing the need for an effective door that is not cost-prohibitive, TKO Dock Doors created the VertiCool door, which is specifically designed for use with vertical storing dock levelers.
The door features a 4-inch-thick R-23 insulated panel for thermal protection. Its 48-inch panel heights reduce the number of panel joints by 50 percent. This not only improves energy efficiency but also makes cleaning easier. Dual-compression side seals are mounted to the door panel to prevent damage and maintain effectiveness. A closed-cell foam interior prevents moisture accumulation and door damage. There is a heavy-duty polymer thermal break track that runs along the full height of the opening. The door also features an UV-stabilized exterior painted aluminum skin and has a dual overlapping header seal and compression loop bottom seals to maintain a consistent seal around all sides of the door.
