TKO Doors vision panels

July 11, 2011
No Comments

A new transparent dock door panel from TKO Doors can help warehouses and distribution centers lower their energy costs while increasing visibility to the outside. This full panel section, comprising a quarter of the door area or more, allows sunlight to enter, while also providing a window for monitoring truck traffic. The vision panel has an easy-to-clean surface.

Like the other panels on the TKO door, the TKO vision panel can be hit by a material handling vehicle and not suffer any damage, according to the company. When a material handling vehicle hits the TKO vision panel (or any other part of the door), the door is designed to separate from its guide track. This prevents damage to the door, energy loss, and possible dock traffic back-ups. Resetting the door after impact is quick and easy. Simply pull the separated panel back into the door track.

The door panels ride along a V-Grooved track on retractable plungers. When the door is hit the plunger slides out of the track, releasing the panel unharmed. Additionally the track design prevents forcible entry from the outside to keep the building secure. To provide this required strength, the 1¾-inch panel consists of a double section of 1/8-inch thick polycarbonate bonded to an extra-strong tubular frame.
